Nine horses claimed on Saturday
Nine horses were claimed on the 10-race Independence programme at Caymanas Park last Saturday.
Velocidad, who won the first race, was claimed from Anthony Nunes by Paul Charton for Vin Desel on a $500,000 claiming tag.
Rowan Mathie claimed Big George from Victory Williams for Vincent Maine for $350,000, while Dennis Lee took Aunt Hilda for himself from Harry Parsard for $350,000 from the fifth race.
In the sixth race on a $180,000 claiming tag, Stormonthesea was claimed from Ray Phillips by Howard Jaghai for Bombay Stud Farm;Tropicaldepression was taken from Rudolph Hardial by Colin Ferguson for Mr JPS; Blessedness was claimed from Anthony Nunes by Victor Williams for Sylvester Suberan; Shellian Grey was claimed by Ray Phillips for Ramat from Lawrence Freemantle; Speedy Process was claimed from Marlon Anderson by Eraldo Fullerton for TAPE, and Batidor De Mundo was also claimed from Anderson by Steadman Curtis, acting as both trainer and owner.
