Honour due
As the curtains come down on the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, already there is a stir on how best Jamaica may honour the team which put on a good show and represented well for the country. Columnist Lance Neita highlights the languishing Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium and suggests that it could be upgraded and rebranded the Usain Bolt International Sports Complex, with world-class facilities to encourage traffic. In the same vein of honouring our athletes, columnist Christopher Burns also looks at repurposing the stadium, but seizes the opportunity to upbraid one he describes as a Twitter mongrel, who posted a crude comment on social media. He says ‘respect due’ to all our athletes, cut out the bigotry. On The Agenda this week, honour.
