UPDATE: Roadblocks mounted in Kingston after gun battle cleared — Police
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police are advising the public that the roadways in the Darling Street and Spanish Town Road areas of downtown Kingston have now been cleared and motorists are able to traverse the area.
In a news release yesterday, the police’s Corporate Communications Unit said rival factions mounted roadblocks in the mentioned vicinity, hampering vehicular traffic.
The rivals were also engaged in a gun battle in the area following the murder of a man on Chestnut Lane in downtown Kingston.
Meanwhile, the police say there remains a heightened police presence in the area and people are asked to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
