Very rewarding
Bruce Baylis, chairman of Seek Book Empire – manufacturers of Seek exercise books, continues to be impressed by the positive response of patrons attending the Seek Exercise Book race day.
Following the facile victory by 11-1 shot Nuclear Affair in the Seek Exercise Book Trophy feature race at Caymanas Park on Saturday, Baylis described the sponsorship of the annual Seek Exercise Book race day as “very rewarding. In its short history it is the fire that has lit the nation’s passion for education through racing,” he told the Complete Racing Guide.
A major part of the company’s sponsorship is the distribution of exercise books in their various forms to patrons at the racetrack.
“This is the ninth annual staging of the Seek Exercise Book race day, and at Seek we have no regrets for having accepted the challenge of sponsoring such an enlightening race day.
“What may have started as a tentative project has now escalated into an important annual fixture on the local racing calendar, and the reason is simple. From the inception, we catered for the entire family and saw positive results in marketing the Seek brand by the positive support of the public since [then],” a proud Baylis said.
He pointed out that the entire racing family is taken care of.
“Caymanas Park is not just about horses, owners, trainers and jockeys, grooms and stable hands: the back-to-school book project is also extended to the 60-odd OTBs (Off Track Betting Parlours) islandwide where you have punters and workers.
“This pleases me, because at Seek we want to know that our brand is known islandwide and for it to be recognised as the standard brand. That it is made in Jamaica for Jamaicans and, through this stellar race day, it is a grand way to shout out this nomenclature, loud and clear,” Baylis said.
