Bell Lewis rings in new role with GraceKennedy
Klao Bell Lewis has returned to Jamaica to become head of Corporate Communications at GraceKennedy, taking on the role on Monday this week. She will report to Don Wehby, Group Chief Executive Officer of GraceKennedy.
Bell Lewi s wa s previously head of Corporate Communications at the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) from 2014 where she managed the Bank’s internal and external communication objectives for stakeholders across 27 member countries.
Prior to that, Bell Lewis was the public relations and corporate affairs manager at ScotiaBank from 2011 to 2014.
Her previous roles include being an independent strategist working in the areas of public relations, public affairs and marketing communication projects; director of communications for HEART Trust NTA; and corporate communications manager for Guardian Life, among other communications and PR roles.
She also previously worked in media as an editor, reporter, radio producer and presenter.
Bell Lewis holds an MA in International Public Relations from Cardiff University in Wales and a BA in English Literature from the University of the West Indies.
Henry holds first PIOJ Press Briefing
Dr Wayne Henry will be giving his first quarterly press briefing on the Jamaican economy today as the new chairman and director general of the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ).
He took over the position from Colin Bullock on July 1.Henry was previously Vice- President for Government Affairs at ScotiaBank where he started in September 2011.
He previously worked in government as chief technical advisor to then Finance Minister Audley Shaw from 2009 to 2011, and before that as special advisor at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries from 2008 to 2009.
Prior to that he was a liaison officer and economist at the World Bank from 2005 to 2007.
After completing his doctorate, he worked as a lecturer at the University of the West Indies from 2001 to 2005. Henry holds a PhD in Development Economics from the Ohio State University in the United States, an MBA in finance from Howard Univesity in Washington DC, and a BSc in Economics and Management from the University of the West Indies.
