Heights, Faulkland to contest St James FA Sandals International U20 final
MONTEGO BAY, St James — An impressive-looking Heights FC and Faulkland FC qualified for the final of the St James Football Association’s Sandals International Under-20 competition after contrasting wins in the semi-finals at the UDC field on Wednesday.
Heights swamped Lilliput Rovers 6-0 in their game after Faulkland FC battled to a 1-0 win over a MoBay City FC team stocked with Herbert Morrison Technical daCosta Cup players.
The final will be played on Saturday at the UDC field after the final of the Under-17 competition.
Heights FC dominated their game and were up 2-0 after just 21 minutes with goals from Andre Hylton and Anthony Gooden.
Wade Daley made it 3-0 in the 36th minute as they went into half-time with a comfortable lead.
Neil Clarke added a fourth in the 60th minute, Alex Williams made it 5-0 in the 70th, and Akeem Palmer completed the route a minute later.
Faulkland FC had to struggle against the MoBay City team until the 67th minute when Courtney Allen made the breakthrough from a good individual effort down the left channel before beating the goalkeeper with a low hard shot into the corner of the goal.
