Digicel Play adds Weathernation to channel line-up
DIGICEL Play announced yesterday that it has added WeatherNation TV to its channel line-up across its Caribbean and Central America market, giving customers up-to-the-minute access to the latest weather conditions.
WeatherNation is a broadcast, digital-streaming and cable/satellite television network that provides reliable and current local, regional and national weather news all day, every day, including live coverage during severe weather.
“We realise that having instant access to local weather is very important to our customers, especially since we live in a region that is prone to severe weather conditions,” said John Suranyi, group CEO for Digcel Play — Caribbean and Central America.
“We are very happy to be partnering with WeatherNation on these great new services which will provide our customers with more in-depth local and severe weather coverage via our cable TV service or accessing the app on their mobile devices.”
Set to be launched in Anguilla, Dominica, Montserrat, Nevis and the Turks and Caicos Islands on September 1, Digicel said customers can access WeatherNation on channel 514. In addition, customers with Android and iOS devices will also be able to access WeatherNation via the mobile app to stay up to date on current conditions, temperatures and extended outlooks in real-time.
“At WeatherNation, we have proven repeatedly that it is indeed possible to provide the most reliable and compelling weather news and information at a cost that makes sense to carriers in all formats, and we are pleased to have Digicel as our newest partners,” said Michael Norton, president of WeatherNation.
