Jamaicans tuning in to ‘super food’ Laminine

LAMININE, regarded as the latest super food and natural supplement producing several incredible health benefits, has finally made its way into the Jamaican market.

The product was introduced to hundreds of Jamaicans in August when representatives of the United States-based multi-level marketing (MLM) company, Life Pharm Global Network (LPGN), travelled to Jamaica for a couple of events titled Jamaica International Health and Wellness Forum at the Spanish Court Hotel in New Kingston, on August 11, and at the Holy Trinity church hall in St James on August 13.

The large audience at both events heard from a number of speakers from LPGN’s US base, as well as Jamaicans who have benefited from using the products or are involved in their trading, in what was much more like a church convention loaded with testimonials and cheers for overcoming serious illnesses.

Speakers included local team leader Beverly Holness, as well as visiting presenters: Steve Brown, Life Pharm’s vice-president in charge of field development; Sonya Olivas, training director; Dr Edward Andujar, a research scientist at LPGN; and Jamaican general practitioner Dr Derrick Jarrett.

The Jamaica Observer interviewed Clive Campbell and Andrea Grange, two local intermediary couriers of the product, prior to the Kingston leg of the promotion, and found them both fully convinced of the potential benefits of the product.

Grange, for example, walked briskly and effortlessly up the steps of the Observer’s editorial department to our meeting room, explaining that just weeks earlier she could not even climb the stairs.

At the Spanish Court Hotel meeting, there were also testimonials from Laminine users and medical professionals attending the events, proclaiming the product as being tremendously effective in allowing them to better manage a variety of health challenges.

Life Pharm was launched in 2011 with its flagship product being Laminine, a proprietary original formula with fibroblast growth factor (FGF) which, according to LPGN, is charting a new course in the nutritional supplement industry worldwide.

Dr Andujar pointed out at the New Kingston launch that the reason the product is called Laminine is that its base is the use of nine-day-old chicken eggs.

“We looked at the chicken egg and then on the ninth day we take the extract from the egg,” he explained.

Asked why, Dr Andujar said that was because the chicken grows fastest inside the egg on the ninth day.

“It is actually a thousand times faster than any other day. So it is crucial to get it on that day,” he explained.

He pointed out that Laminine is made up of three parts: fibroblast growth factor (FGF); amino acids; and fish proteins.

“After some time cells [in your body] age and move from normal to abnormal,” he explained. “Every cell has adult stem cells. Adult stem cells are in your brain, in your stomach, in your heart, and in your lungs, all over your body; God gave them to us when we were born. But the stem cells are dormant, meaning that they are asleep and they are not doing anything,” he noted.

“What happens when you take Laminine is that the FGF goes to the cells and wakes up the stem cells and the stem cells become functional. The stem cells utilise the amino acids and proteins which brings them back to normal. So what we say is right: Your body is healing itself,” he added.

Life Pharm says that FGF directs the stem cells and amino acids to where these are needed the most, slowing down signs of ageing by providing the raw ingredients necessary to promote growth and repair.

Cellular ageing is one of the reasons organs start to deteriorate, wrinkles appear on the skin and people experience various other signs of ageing. By preventing the process on a cellular level, Laminine is said to bolster the body’s natural resources and primes it to return to a state of well-being and youthfulness.

Dr Andujar explained that the human body is remarkably tough and very capable of repairing itself. However, many factors can hinder its innate ability to do so. These factors often include poor nutrition, oxidative damage, poor lifestyle choices, high levels of stress, and a wide range of environmental factors.

He says that the powerful ingredients found in Laminine give the body the resources it needs to combat these issues and enhance the natural repair process.

“All that Laminine does is to use the FGF to stimulate them and activate the stem cells. But the stem cells are yours, so the body is healing itself,” he stated.

Other attributes of Laminine are:

1. It has an effect on mood with anti-depression benefits. Hormone production and low levels of serotonin could have an impact on mood, feelings of anxiety and stress. The composition of Laminine is said to be enhanced by the presence of lysine, a powerful anti-depression and mood-improving amino acid.

2. It is a natural supplement rather than a pharmaceutical product, which makes Laminine a great substitution for medication that cause a range of side effects, including sexual dysfunction and low libido.

3. As a precursor of nitric oxide, the arginine found in Laminine plays a major role in cardiovascular health and a range of other physiological processes. Nitric oxide is one of the keys to improved circulation and blood flow to all parts of the body.

4. Laminine is said to be an excellent natural source of leucine and isoleucine, and these amino acids are utilised in physiological processes, including the production of energy. It increases energy levels, allowing users to function properly, improves sleep, and can also be used to regulate cortisol’s positive impact on the ability to sleep.
