Ishawna enjoying tour of duty
In June, the Jamaica Observer presented a series looking at reggae artistes going on tour. We follow up with some of those acts.
FEMALE dancehall deejay Ishawna is having a fulfilling summer touring stint which is seeing her consolidating her position as the latest sensation in the genre.
“Right now, I am very happy and I feel like this current team around me is doing a lot to focus on my career and growth. I am getting a lot more bookings than ever before and I wanna thank all my fans,” Ishawna told the New York’s Donsome Booking Agency handles all her booking.She performed in Long Island, New York on September 3 and 4. The latter gig saw her sharing the stage with Aidonia. She is also billed to perform on a gig in Atlanta on the 10th. On August 10, Ishawna arrived in London, England, and was immediately whisked away to the BBC Radio 1 Extra for an interview with Seani B. Three days later, she performed at the Coronet in London. Her female fans recited her songs, while the men in the audience were fixated on her every move. She delivered tracks including Restraining Order, Cheerful Giver, Ooh La La, Need Love, and Abay.Ishawna recently released her new video Everybody Needs Someone and is currently promoting her latest single Private Mi Page.— Basil Walters
