#Geejam’s Latest Collection #COCOSAN
If, like us at SO, you’ve been waiting with bated breath to get a front-row seat to Jon Baker and Steve Beaver’s latest collection, the wait is thankfully over.
The wearers of many hats – Geejam Collection co-founders, hoteliers and music veterans – Baker and Beaver have been, in their own words, “quietly undergoing a rather dynamic brand and property revitalisation in their home surrounds of the north-east coast of Port Antonio”. There’s more, we learnt last weekend, as they confirmed that “Yes, after successfully renovating and redesigning the historic Trident Hotel, the Geejam management contract concluded last December.” But this gave the business partners more time to focus on their vision for the future of Geejam and its sister properties. “We are determined to keep the renaissance vibrant and alive.” It was, we would soon discover, no idle boast!
Our September issue unveils their latest collection — Villa Cocosan — a private hilltop oasis glamorously ensconced within the lush tropical foliage of Portie.
“We took,” said Beaver, “one of the San San villas that had been derelict for many years and merged Vidal Dowding’s architectural expertise with Jon’s interior design aesthetic to create a six-bedroom villa that includes a spa, gym and pool… this has created a sophisticated and very unique lifestyle experience, all situated within a natural sanctuary. I think it is quite special.”
It’s actually breathtakingly gorgeous.
