Cops, soldiers get polygraph training
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) will embark on a 10-week polygraph certification-training programme at the New England Polygraph Centre in New Hampshire, England, today.
According to a news release from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), one JDF member and six JCF members from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-corruption Agency (MOCA) will be part of the first group that will head to New England for training.
The police say the next scheduled intakes will be in January and March 2017, with an additional 12 people receiving training each month. Each group will include two JDF officers and 10 JCF officers, six of whom are assigned to MOCA, the police say.
The training programme is reportedly sponsored by the United States Embassy’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) section, which will also be providing assistance in polygraphing incoming JCF recruits.
A total of 31 Jamaicans will attend this polygraph training in New Hampshire.
