SYNDICATE Events, promoter of the popular Absinthe party series, has attributed the event’s continued success to delivering a good product and listening to their patrons’ needs.

The most recent staging took place last Saturday on the Waterfront in downtown Kingston. With high-powered DJs — including Di Unit, ZJ Johnny Kool and the Coppershot sound system providing the musical ambience — patrons danced up a storm to the past and current hits.

“The Ocean’s Eleven staging of Absinthe started much like we planned … the patrons arrived impeccably dressed, taking their time to digest the new venue and set up base camp. But once we hit critical mass, the vibe just erupted with the help of our DJs and Smirnoff-sponsored spirits. There was no stopping it … we had a full-fledged Absinthe on our hands, complete with heels kicked under bistro tables to enable the ladies’ worst behaviour,” said Andre Kameka, a member of the promotions team.

Over the years, Absinthe has attracted a bumper-sized turnout of patrons and last Saturday’s staging was no different.

“One of the Absinthe pillars that we appeal to a wide cross section of the partying public. The turnout for this staging, much like our others, was a mixed crowd of ‘new-to-Absinthe’ spanning various demographics and Absinthe faithful, who relentlessly promote on our behalf and who have been with us for years, to whom we cannot say thank you enough. Our numbers on the night are also a testament to the fact that we [have] delivered an excellent product time and time again,” Kameka explained.

Absinthe began as a bottle party on Annette Crescent in Kingston in September 2005. Kameka shared how the party has evolved over the years.

“The Absinthe brand continues to mature as the expectations of the partygoers evolve while staying true to its grounding principles of providing a safe environment for our valued patrons to completely let loose and have an amazing time without fear of ridicule or harm. Absinthe continues to be a mainstay in the ever-changing entertainment landscape and remains synonymous with epic experiences, fantastic food and value for money.”

Absinthe is held three times annually. The next event is scheduled for New Year’s Eve at a venue to be announced.
