DRC finale on Sunday
Drivers Rallysport Club (DRC) will hold its third and final sprint of 2016 on Sunday in Bog Walk, St Catherine, starting at 11:00 am.
“This sprint will determine the winner of the DRC Sprint championship,” Warren Lamey, event organiser, told Auto.
The event is scheduled to run the same format it did for the second sprint, with a massive 1.6-kilometre course which the drivers will have to complete three times. The course is deeper into the Tru-Juice Orchards and features several spectacular jumps that are spectator favourites.
Expected to be out is Kyle Gregg, who will be using this last chance before Rally Jamaica in November as a shakedown session.
“After our mechanical issues last time out, we discovered there were more problems, so we’ve sorted them out and will be using the sprint to make sure the car is ready for the end of year rally,” Gregg explained.
While the number of four-wheel-drive competitors appears to be thin on the ground, Lamey is expecting the two-wheel-drive class to pick up the slack.
“Spectators can expect a three-way battle between Maurice Whittingham, Bobby Marshall and Raynor King,” he said.
