PHOTOS: Maroon clad warriors repeat 6-0 beating of Edith Dalton
Wolmer’s Boys once again demolished their opponent, Edith Dalton James High School, in the return fixture match of the ISSA Manning Cup football competition.
After repeating their home result of 6-0, the team from Heroes Circle has now made it six consecutive wins. They have retained their position at the top of Group F with 18 points, with 22 goals to their name.
Before the beginning of the match a moment was taken to pay tribute to the late, Dominic James. Medics were on hand at the match with an ambulance and a stretcher, thanks to the action of president of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA), Dr Walton Small, following the passing of the St George’s College captain. Leading the charge, Xavion Crossdale, scored the first goal of many for this match. Not long after, winger Rivaldo English scored a deflection making it 2-0, followed by another goal from the man with all the luck, Xavion Crossdale, extending their lead. Alphanso Gooden, wasting no time after his second-half substitution, further opened the flood gates scoring a hat-trick, leaving the crowd in high spirits and putting him on seven goals for this season. Goalkeeper, Shamar Jemison, managed yet another clean sheet, making this his sixth for the season.
Group favourites, Wolmer’s, under the guidance of their coach, Vassel Reynolds, will hope to continue their win streak going into Friday’s match against Dunoon.
