Gun seized in West End; DJ arrested
THE Negril police have taken a disc jockey into custody following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in West End, Negril, Westmoreland yesterday.
Police said that between the hours of 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm, officers, during an operation in the area, found a man in possession of a 9mm Smith and Wesson pistol with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds of ammunition during a search.
“A follow-up operation was carried out at his home, which yielded seven rounds of ammunition. He was taken into custody. However, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations,” a release from the police’s Corporate Communication Unit.
