Man killed in confrontation with cops still unidentified
KINGSTON, Jamaica – An unidentified man was shot dead during an alleged confrontation with the police in Riverton City, Kingston, yesterday.
The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the police force said the dead man appears to be in his late twenties, is of dark complexion, slim build and is about 163 centimetres (5 feet 4 inches) long.
He was dressed in a gray and white, hooded sweater, white under shirt, two Levis underpants, blue jeans, and green and black socks.
They have also reported that a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun with five 12-gauge cartridges was seized during the incident and that the matter was reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
The police are asking anyone who may be able to identify the body to contact the Hunts Bay Criminal Investigation Branch at 923-7111, 923-6197, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
