#TrackingMatthew: Gordon Town residents expect gully to overflow, appeal for help
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Residents in Gordon Town, here are concerned that the community will be severely impacted when Hurricane Matthew hits because of a gully which runs through the community.
The gully, which runs from Irish Town through to Gordon Town, residents say, has not been cleaned and is expected to overflow its banks.
One resident, Dalton Campbell, is expressing fear that the road, which runs over the gully will break away.
“All di talk we a talk nobody naah look pon it. Dem just talk and nuh do nothing. The town a go flood out,” Campbell said.
The resident is again appealing to the relevant authorities to address the situation before it is too late.
“Dem need fi come now. [Hurricane] Gustav mash we up last time and Matthew ahh do it again,” Campbell lamented.
