#TrackingMatthew: Jamaica Customs, BOJ, NMIA reopen today
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA), Bank of Jamaica and Norman Manley international Airport (NMIA) will resume their services today following the discontinuation of a severe weather threat that was issued for Jamaica.
In and advisory to employees, brokers, customers and stakeholders, JCA advised that normal operations will resumes as the island is no longer under a severe weather threat.
In keeping with instructions from the Financial Secretary, all other agencies within the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service will also open their doors for business to the public.
Meanwhile, NMIA said based on the latest information available regarding the projected path of the hurricane, the decision has been made to reopen the airport for full operations at 12:00 noon. Airlines are now making arrangements for the commencement of flight activity.
Passengers scheduled for flights today are being asked to make contact with their respective airlines to confirm their flights. Similarly, passengers booked on cancelled flights from previous days are advised to contact their travel agent or the airline’s customer care number for rebooking options.
All passengers are well advised to make contact with the respective airlines before arriving at the NMIA today.
