World Homeless Day — Mandeville gets help
Mandeville, Manchester — October 10 was internationally recognised as World Homeless Day.
To mark the occasion, volunteers from the St Ann-based, non-profit organisation, RSVP Caribbean Volunteers, took time out to care for homeless people in Mandeville.
Regional director of the group, Bridgette Barrett, said that twenty-seven homeless people were fed, groomed and provided with care packages.
She said that some sensitisation was done with members of the public on how to treat homeless people.
Barrett said data showed that thirty-nine homeless people are on the streets of Mandeville.
