Artistes flock to Bird’s tribute
Earlier this year, renowned drummer Junior “Bird” Baillie suffered a near fatal heart attack. Since then, he has been recuperating at home but the medical bills continue to grow. It is with that in mind organisers of music series Keesing Live, took a decision to stage a concert with the proceeds going towards Baillie’s medical bills.
On Saturday, October 22, a cavalcade of stars, all of whom have been backed by the talented percussionist, whether live on stage or in recording sessions, will take to the stage for a performance dubbed, “To Bird With Love”.

The artistes not only agreed immediately, but there were others who, when they heard about the benefit, called up and said they wanted to participate.
“Patrons can expect the usual Keesing Live elegance and really good vibes. They will have free parking at Tyre Warehouse and a free shuttle service to the venue. There will be delicious food and drink on sale throughout the evening, as well as some giveaways and the chance to purchase CDs, and merchandise. Patrons can be sure of an on-time start to the show — 8:00 sharp,” she said.
Performers who have thus far confirmed include Ken Boothe, Ernie Smith, Bob Andy, Dean Fraser, Duane Stephenson, Errol Lee, Johnny Clarke, Rupert Bent Jr, Gem Myers, Wayne Armond, Cherine Anderson, Dwight Richards, Maria Myrie, Peso, Seretse, Nazzleman, Harold Davis, Ouzoune, Dimario McDowall and Charmaine Limonius. They will be backed by Desi Jones & Friends and Lloyd Parks & We The People.
