‘Fat Man’ not taken to court
MARVIN ‘Fat Man’ Campbell Snr, who was recently charged with five counts of murder in connection with the recent massacre in March Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine, did not appear in the St Catherine Parish Court yesterday as was announced.
Police now say he is expected to appear in court on November 1.
The police’s Corporate Communication Unit had announced last week that Campbell would appear in court yesterday, but he was not taken to court by the police.
Campbell, who police say is a member of the notorious Spanish Town-based Klansman Gang, was last Thursday charged with five counts of murder following the deaths of Salesha Evans, 24, her nine-year-old son Revaughn Evans, Vaniesha Bartley, 22, her two-year-old daughter Koyandra Wynter, and 14-year-old Marvin Campbell Jr.
Campbell is accused of leading a group of gunmen to his family’s house on March Pen Road in Spanish Town, where the five people were killed and their house torched.
Two other people were injured in the October 9 attack.
The police had reported that gunmen went to the community, kicked in the doors of four houses and opened fire, hitting occupants before setting their homes ablaze.
Following the gruesome attack, the Police High Command listed Campbell as a person of interest in the killings and asked him to turn himself in. He later surrendered to the police in the company of clergyman Bishop Rohan Edwards.
