A leading secondary institution in Jamaica
St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) has been providing high quality technical and general education to young men and women in central and western Jamaica for 55 years. As the school celebrates this important milestone of its 55th anniversary, I am pleased to offer sincere congratulations to its management, staff, students and alumni. STETHS was established as part of the effort to expand education in Jamaica and introduce more of our students to skills-based education to meet the contemporary needs of the society.
The institution was created to harness, mould and unleash the talents of our youth for their total development and contribution to their communities and country. The growth of St. Elizabeth Technical High School over the years has been heartening as it has distinguished itself as being among the leading secondary institutions in Jamaica in many respects.
The students of this institution continue to excel in academics, technical education, sports and other co-curricular activities. The graduates of STETHS over the decades since its establishment, have been leaders and achievers in various vital areas of life in Jamaica and in numerous other countries around the world. Against this background, the school has been a pillar of strength serving the people and educational needs of our country, the Caribbean region and the world.
I commend the former principals, past board members, ex-staff and alumni who have contributed significantly to the growth and development of St Elizabeth Technical High School. The institution has steadfastly pursued its motto of: “Work and Integrity.”
Congratulations and best wishes.
