British man held with cocaine at airport
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The police are reporting that a British man, who allegedly tried to leave the island on Sunday with cocaine in his luggage, was arrested at the Sangster International Airport.
The man, who the police have not identified, was charged with Breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Reports are that about 5:00 pm, the man was about to board a flight to London, England when he was stopped and his luggage searched at the security check point.
The police said four packages of cocaine, weighing 5.25 lbs and valued at over $2.6 million, were found.
Arrangements are now being made for him to be questioned in the presence of his attorney, the police said.
