Cornwall College remains unbeaten this season after their triumph in an intense clash against Clarendon College. This ended with Cornwall demolishing Clarendon 4-2 in the presence of their ecstatic supporters.
Leading the charge for Cornwall was Aiden Jokomba with his goal in the 26th-minute. Sealing the deal for them with his second hat-trick this season was Jourdaine Fletcher with goals in the 59th, 62nd and 89th minutes. Shemar Hunter (36th) and Captain Creggton Charlton (40th) were the scorers for Clarendon College.
After being knocked out of the Walker Cup Competition, Wolmer’s Boys have booked themselves a spot in the ISSA-FLOW Super Cup final following their win against St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) yesterday at Sabina Park. Wolmer’s defeated STETHS 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 regulation time and extra time draw.
Wolmer’s got an early lead thanks to a clinical 15th-minute penalty by Alfonso Gooden, however, Demar James gave STETHS hope of of a last gasp win with his goal in the 87th-minute, sending the game into extra time, followed by the dreaded penalty shootout.
Wolmerian and Jamaica U-20 player, Jahwahni Hinds, clinched the win for Wolmer’s by scoring the deciding penalty.
This will be the first time that both Wolmer’s and Cornwall College are in the finals of the Super Cup, however, it will also be the first time that a school from the DaCosta Cup will have made it to the finals.
