Love wins
Dear Editor,
Over half of us in the US feel that hate has won and love has lost. While this heartache is totally legitimate, the truth is hate never wins — not really.
Anger is intense fear in disguise, and the most fearful among us decided this election. The less fearful lost the election, but now many are becoming just as angry.
We’re all capable of the fear that won this election. And we’re all deserving of compassion that dissolves that fear. Being angry about believing hate won is still the same anger. There are two choices: Fan the flames even higher than they already are, or put the fire out.
Fear blinds us to reason and the ability to see others’ viewpoints. Fear blinds us to who we truly are: one, eternal and of love alone in God.
We are souls having an illusionary, oh-so-real-seeming human experience here, where we believe there’s a great deal to fear. This should teach us to love even more deeply, remembering that the only thing that’s real in this illusionary place is God and that love is the only power there truly is. This will shift human fear into divine truth/peace.
Right now, we have the opportunity for a really big shift, because the lower the diving board goes, the higher the diver can spring.
With God’s love we all win, no matter what this illusion looks like. We can’t help but win, because it’s who we truly are.
