Grange to attend culture meeting in Paraguay
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, is travelling to Asuncion, Paraguay to participate in the VII Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Culture and Highest Appropriate Authorities of the Organization of the American States (OAS) from November 17-18, 2016.
According to a release from the ministry today, the meeting will examine, among other topics, ‘Local Production to Regional Consumption: Opportunities and Challenges for the Circulation of Cultural Goods and Services’, ‘Challenges in the Generation of Employment, Social Inclusion and Promotion of Cultural Diversity’ and ‘Regional Programs on the Circulation of Cultural Goods and Services’.
Grange will be one of two ministers to open the ministerial dialogue following the presentations from the Third Plenary Session. She will present Jamaica’s perspective on the topic: ‘Regional Programmes on the Circulation of Cultural Goods and Services’.
Grange said she is grateful for the opportunity to share Jamaica’s policy positions and programmes relating to culture with the rest of the Caribbean and Latin America.
