Criteria to become a member

Company should be registered with the Office of Registrar of Companies

Company must be tax compliant

Steps to become a member

Complete and submit the application form along with the requisite fees

Factory visit is conducted

The application along with the fees are submitted to the Board of Directors for approval

A letter of acceptance and certificate is forwarded upon approval

There are three tiers of membership:

Ordinary Members: Should be engaged in manufacturing; be a registered company with Articles and Memorandum of Association.

Associate Members: Individuals, firms, partnerships or companies which provide services to the manufacturing sector or associations engaged or interested in any business in Jamaica and acceptable as such to the Board Members.

Micro and Small Members: Manufacturers employing 1-5 persons, in operation for less than seven (7) years with gross annual sales not exceeding J$10 million.

The JMA has long been a vocal advocate for national driven solutions to the financial needs of our sector. This has driven the Association to relentlessly pursue financial opportunities with our stakeholders and private sector partners. Some of the most recent partnerships include:

• The JMA/NCB Business Edge Credit Card- This partnership allows the JMA to provide payment solutions to our members through the cobranded JMA/NCB Business Edge Credit Card at a competitive reduced rate, reduced annual fee and cashback feature.

• JMA/NCB Loan Facility-Members have access to a pool of funds of up to J$2 billion, both secured and unsecured. Special concessions are also available to members with particular loan purposes including renewable energy, capital expenditure and working capital support.

• JMA/EXIM Bank Loan Facility- Members will have access to a pool of J$30 million for working capital and medium term loans at a rate of twelve (12) per cent on the reducing balance. Each member can access up to J$1.5 million unsecured.

• Voucher for Technical Assistance: JMA has become an accredited Business Development Organization (BDO) under the DBJ’s Voucher for Technical Assistance Programme. Approved businesses are now able to benefit from services including strategic plans and marketing research where 70% of the service cost is free.
