Exchanging of Gifts… by Fortis4Life

The exchange of gifts has been around for as long as I can remember. When we were children, we were totally excited about Christmas because with Christmas comes the opening of presents, drinking sorrel, eating cake and the best part, sleep!!!

Even as adults, we still show excitement when presents are given to us. I don’t know about you but I love getting presents! When you see that expression on the face of the person you’re giving the gift to…man, it priceless…real Kodak moment right there!

If there is ever a time that people exchange, give and receive gifts, is Christmastime! Not even birthdays tun up so! Maybe Valentine’s Day but not birthdays.

We always complain ‘sey wi bruk’ and ‘we nah get no bonus’ or ‘nuh bonus nah run’ and all that, but when you check it out, the naysayers are the ones who whip out the credit cards and max them out! Because it’s Christmas, that’s why!!!

Why do you think it’s called the ‘silly’ season? Figure it out. All over the world, families and friends give presents to each other and yes, become silly!! And for good reasons too at that!

But it’s early days yet…although you do have persons who have started on their Christmas shopping list from as early as September if not October; they do not want to see themselves doing no last minute shopping and all the busyness that will be around. Those people are wise because dem smell di rake (or rat if you prefer!)

December is almost upon us…still nuff time you say? If I were you, I would start ‘drop words’ to those who expect gifts to tell you what it is they want and start your shopping quick, quick!

Planning on shopping online for those gifts you want? Better get to it! Remember there’s a timeline for shipping and delivery.

Christmas is all about the excitement, the camaraderie, being on the road (miserable traffic and all), checking out the bargains and the discounts, shopping, eating and last but not least, being thankful to witness another year, another Christmas.

I’m giving myself time to get the ball rolling so let’s see how the spending go nuh?

Happy splurging!!! Peace…
