EMERGING dancehall singjay Jah Son is keen on getting his musical breakthrough with his aptly titled EP, Big Break.

“I named it

Big Break because I know what is going to manifest from it and so far, I can’t complain… The feedback has been great. Jah has truly blessed me. Everyone has been commending me on this EP and has been telling me how much they love it,” he told theJamaica Observer.

Released on November 16, the nine-track set is produced by Michael Sturridge of Sturr Class Entertainment. It is being distributed by Launchpad Media and Jack Reuben and is available on all digital platforms.

The track listing includes Dream Big, Jamming, Hero, Mamma Love, Daddy She No, Jah Fix Everything, Breaking, Cups Up andCheers to Life featuring Chi Ching Ching.

Jah Son said videos for the latter two will officially be out next month.

“It is all about making my fans happy, and that means putting out more good music and videos for my fans to enjoy. Just keep a listening ear for Jah Son because you will be hearing whole heap more tings to come,” he said.

Jah Son (given name Jason Scott) was born in St Mary, but grew up in St Ann. He said while attending Ocho Rios High, he made the decision to pursue a career in music.

“I used to follow mi father go studio. He was an upcoming deejay named Little Kevin. He never got the mainstream break in business, but I’m gonna do it,” he said.

In 2010 he got a buzz with Dream, and since then he said he hasn’t looked back.

“I wanna show fans there is still good music coming out of Jamaica.”
