Waterhouse contract ‘Admiral’ Bailey as head coach
Veteran football coach Glendon ‘Admiral’ Bailey has been appointed to the role of head coach at Waterhouse Football Club.
Bailey, best known for his exploits with Tivoli Gardens Football Club, will replace Marvin Tate, who on mutual agreement, was released from the role on Monday.
Donovan White, president of Waterhouse Football Club, said, “These are tough times in football and resources are extremely scarce, therefore we must be efficient and effective in utilising the support we do have from our committed sponsors and fans, by delivering consistent performances and positive results. Our team, while extremely talented, has struggled with leadership, consistency and discipline on and off the field.”
As a coach, Bailey has built and managed winning teams at all levels and boasts an impressive record of achievement including two National Premier titles, four Jackie Bell KO Cups; one Champion of Champion Title; one Syd Bartlett Championship; one Flow Champions Cup; and one Major League Championship.
Prior to joining Waterhouse FC, Bailey has held head coaching roles at Tivoli Gardens FC, Arnett Gardens FC, Duhaney Park FC, Olympic Gardens FC and Rivoli United FC.
“Our team is largely made up of young players who are still making the transition to the senior ranks balanced with veteran players like Jermaine Anderson, Irvino English and Weston Forrest. We remain committed to our stated goals that are focused on youth development, and the addition of Mr Bailey as head coach will inject renewed discipline, leadership, motivation and, most importantly a winning attitude to the team,” reasoned White.
The technical leadership of the Waterhouse FC programme will now see Bailey as head coach, with Curtis Hamilton as his assistant, Leighton Murray as the goalkeeper coach, and Keith Sailsman as team manager.
