Sandals opens state-of-the-art Epix imaging photo studio

GUESTS of Sandals Ochi Beach Resorts can now enjoy a new state-of-the-art photo experience as Sandals Resorts officially opened its first Epix Professional Imaging photo shop recently.

The new and innovative creation also houses the Epix Studio by internationally acclaimed American photographer Joe Craig and is aimed at transforming on-property photography to a much more advanced level.

According to Ian Johnson, director of Photography and Video Creations, the new concept, which is the first of its kind in the Caribbean, “is aimed at modernising our operations and giving our valued guests the service and technology that they want”.

Johnson noted that Epix is the culmination of two years’ worth of efforts to create a new brand and a new look and feel for our photo shops and it marked a new and exciting era for the photo and videography arm of the company.

“It’s a completely new set of technology that we are using,” Johnson said. “It works a lot like an iPad with screen swipe and other additional features.”

Guests at the resort are now able to personally log into the kiosks at the photo shop where all their images taken on property are automatically displayed. “They literally don’t have to search for anything, as the images are tagged to their rooms immediately after being taken by the photographer,” Johnson explained.

The new system is being provided by Photogra, a company based in Atlanta and New York and have worked with many major clients around the United States.

Johnson noted that the feedback to Epix has been tremendous from both photographers and guests at the resort.

“The photographers have now gotten the feel for the new technology and have reported that it has made their job much simpler and has also improved the quality of their work. The guests have also been raving about Epix with its extraordinary customer friendly features.”

Another added feature is the Epix Studio by Joe Craig, where clients are able to have their portraits professionally done in a first-class studio designed by the famed American. “It’s a feature which we are really excited about and it has been creating waves in the American marketplace,” Johnson further noted.

Since 1972, Joe Craig has established himself as an internationally acclaimed photographer. He has spent 40 years perfecting his life’s work, an artistic and soulful approach to portraiture called Soulmarks. His instinctive talent and magnetic charisma keep him in high demand as a photographic consultant around the globe.

Sandals photo shop managers and directors from across the region celebrate the opening of the Epix Professional Imaging studio.
