New army boss to be sworn in today
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Brigadier Rocky Meade, who has been appointed to succeed Major General Antony Anderson as chief of defence staff of the Jamaica Defence Force, will be sworn in at King’s House this afternoon.
Meade, who has been deputy chief of defence staff for five years, has served the JDF for 32 years.
Anderson will today begin duties in the recently created post of National Security Advisor (NSA).
He will advise the prime minister and the minister of national security, through the National Security Council (NSC), on matters of internal and external security affairs, which broadly include defence, crime and security and public safety related policy and strategy, inter-agency cooperation, partner nation engagement and regional and international security, according to a statement from Jamaica House.
