Waiting in the Express Entry pool: what to expect
Dear Mr Brown:
I am currently in the Express Entry pool. I would like to know what to expect when I am sent an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence, if I am selected.

Dear KP:
Dear KP:
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will send correspondence inviting you to apply for, permanent residence under the specific category that you may be eligible for such as Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Worker, or Provincial Nominee, etc.
A basis of the invitation, summary of your points total, as well expiration date of the offer will also be stated. Please note that an extension will not be given.
Instructions regarding the recalculation of points based on a change in your situation will also be given.

Responses to the invitation
The options will be given to either decline the invitation or to submit an application for permanent residence. Please note that it is imperative to meet the 90-day deadline to submit supporting documents, as some documents take time to obtain. Should you fail to submit any of the supporting documents and information without a valid reason, the application will be rejected.
Should you wish to apply for permanent residence, you would follow the instructions to review and validate the information on the pre-filled form; complete the remaining questions; and obtain the requested supporting documents.
Should you decline the invitation, while still meeting the criteria, your Express Entry profile will remain active and valid until the original expiry date. This means that you will still be considered for future rounds of invitation.
Failure to decline the invitation to apply for permanent residence or submit an application for permanent residence by the deadline will result in the expiration of the invitation, which will result in your profile not being considered for future invitations. However, this does not preclude you from creating a new Express Entry profile in the future, for which you would have to meet the minimum requirements and register with the Job Bank, if applicable.
