$455K in cocaine removed from woman’s underwear at Sangster airport
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Authorities on Tuesday removed 1.4 kilograms of cocaine — estimated to worth $455,700 on the street — which had been hidden in a female passenger’s groin area at the Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James.
The Jamaican woman, who the police said resides in Canada, was at the security checkpoint about 2:30 pm, where she was scheduled to board a Sunwing flight destined to Toronto.
During a search of her body, the illicit drug was found wrapped in a cylindrical parcel in a green and black sock hidden in her underwear and tucked in her groin area, the lawmen reported.
She was subsequently taken into custody. Her identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
