Grenada Government minister resigns
ST GEORGE’S, Grenada (CMC) — Minister with responsibility for the promotion of the Citizenship by Investment programme, Alexandra Otway-Noel yesterday announced that she had resigned from the Grenada Government, but the Office of the Prime Minister has said it has not yet received the letter of resignation.
In a statement posted on her
Facebook page, Otway-Noel said that she had resigned from her Government position to pursue a number of “exciting opportunities in the private sector” and has agreed to ensure a smooth transition to her as yet unnamed successor.
“It has been a privilege and an honour to serve the prime minister, the Government and the nation of Grenada,” she said, noting that in her role of minister of tourism she oversaw a number of high-profile initiatives including the repositioning and rebranding of the tourism sector, which led to the birth of the ‘Pure Grenada, The Spice of the Caribbean’ market proposition.
The
Caribbean Media Corporation has been informed that the Office of the Prime Minister, the cabinet secretary and the Office of the Governor General have not received any letter of resignation.
Efforts to reach Otway-Noel by telephone have so far proven futile.
