JN VISA/KSAFA Jackie Bell competition kicks off today

The 2017 staging of the JN VISA/KSAFA Jackie Bell football competition will kick off this weekend with 12 of 13 games being carded as double-headers across seven venues throughout the Corporate Area.

The curtain-raisers are scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm with the feature contests set for 3:30 pm today.

Last year’s winners Arnett Gardens FC and runners-up Waterhouse who are also engaged in Red Stripe Premier League matches will not enter the Jackie Bell KO until the round of 16.

The promoters pointed out that all games will be played to finish. If the teams are locked at the end of full and extra time then penalty shoot-out will be used to decide the outcome.

At Breezy Castle, New Kingston FC will battle Allman/Woodford FC in the curtain-raise, before Rae Town FC and Barbican FC contest the feature game.

Olympic Gardens FC and Santos FC will do battle in the curtain raiser at Molynes Field, while Molynes United FC tackle Bull Bay FC in the feature.Maxfield Park will oppose JDF and Real Mona battle Shortwood United in the fixtures slated for Butterpark.

Tomorrow, Stony Hill will face Cavalier SC with Meadforest and Swallowfield contesting the feature at Queensborough, while at Tinson Pen Oval, Seaview Gardens will oppose Mountain View and Greenwich Town do battle againt Duhaney Park.

The lone single fixture of the weekend will see Central Kingston FC opposing Cooreville Gardens at Winchester Park.
