MAPS set for MoBay
For the first time in its two-year existence, Music And Pool Series (MAPS) will be hosting an event in Jamaica’s tourist capital.
On Saturday, February 4, the popular pool party series will invade the Palmyra Resort in Montego Bay, St James.
“The team saw an opportunity to expand its reach and we decided to capitalise on it. The whole concept of MAPS is moving the event to different locations, parishes and even countries,” co-promoter Curtis Johnson told the
Jamaica Observer.
Johnson, along with Stephanie Smith, Cadeem Mullings, Kory Dixon and Careem Mullings are the forces behind Encore International, promoters of MAPS.
Held three times annually, MAPS will celebrate its second anniversary this year.
“For 2017, we’ve decided to expand to the North American market by having four events this year. After Montego Bay, we head to Ocho Rios in June, then Florida in July and May Pen in October,” said Johnson.
The Montego Bay staging will feature music courtesy of DJ Kentucky, DJ Tippy, DJ Naz, Team Shella and Coppershot. The party starts at 2:00 pm and ends at 8:00 pm.
“Patrons can expect high entertainment quality. MAPS is a pool party where patrons actually interact with the pool and the props provided,” Johnson added.
MAPS’s first staging was held in February 2015 in Red Hills, St Andrew.
