Police officer’s son shot dead in Westmoreland
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The police are reporting that a teenager, who is reportedly the son of a police officer, was shot dead by unknown assailants in his community of New Market, Westmoreland, yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Shavoy Jackson.
Police say that about 10:00 pm, residents heard explosions and summoned the police.
On their arrival, Jackson was found shot and injured on the roadway.
He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations are continuing, the police say.
