X6 businessman returns to court February 16 on firearm charges
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Businessman Patrick Powell is to return to the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on February 16 in relation to a charge of failing to hand over his licensed firearm.
The new mention date was scheduled to facilitate the receipt of the Supreme Court transcript of the Khajeel Mais murder case in which Powell was charged for reportedly using the firearm to fatally shoot the teen.
Powell was however freed of that case last year.
The accused, who attended court this morning with his lawyer Deborah Martin, had his bail extended.
