Jah9, Raging Fyah surge on Billboard
JAH9 and Grammy-nominated band Raging Fyah are enjoying a boost in sales on this week’s Billboard Reggae album chart.
Jah9’s sophomore set 9 —released in September last year and peaked at number five — moves from 35 to number 15. The set registered sales of 30 copies up from 14 copies the week before. To date, the album – released by VP Music Group — has sold 972 copies.
Everlasting by Raging Fyah leaped from 27 to 13 with sales of 54 copies up from 21 the week before. Released in May last year,Everlasting had debuted at number two. The 13-track set features collaborations with Jesse Royal, J Boog and Busy Signal.
To date, Everlasting has sold 1,289 copies.
Elsewhere on the Billboard Reggae album chart, Rebelution’s Falling into Place continues to lead the pack at the top of the chart. It sold 893 copies over the past week after selling 205 copies the week before. Its sales figure to date stands at 32,385 copies.
Last week’s number four entry, Transition by Jemere Morgan, saw an uptick in sales as it moves into the number two spot, selling 304 copies up from 132 the previous week. After two weeks, it has sold 436 copies.
J Boog’s Wash House Ting tumbles from 2 to 3, even though it saw an increase in sales of 213 copies up from 164 the week before. Its sales to date stands at 4,135 copies.
Stephen Marley’s Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life shoots from nine to number four, selling 210 copies up from 88 the previous week. Released last July, the set has sold 11,182.
Holding down the number five slot is Stick Figure’s Set in Stone which has fallen from number three. It sold 160 copies over the past week to bring its total to 24,321 copies.
Hawaiian surfer Landon McNamara’s A Dollar Short, A Minute Late moves up a spot to number six, selling 154 copies. Since its release, the album has sold 1,147 copies.
Slipping a notch down to number seven is Rebelution’s Live at Red Rocks, which sold 127 copies, while Bob Marley & The Wailers’ The Legend Live: Santa Barbara Country Bowl November 25, 1979 holds firm at number eight after selling 113 copies.
Matisyahu’s Release the Bound (EP) rises four places to number nine, while Iration’s long-charting Hotting Up inches up a spot to number 10. To date, the latter has sold 17,889 copies.
New York-based reggae outfit the Frightnrs fall from number six to number 11 with Nothing More to Say. The album has so far sold 5,019 copies.
Double Up, the acoustic set from Iration, holds at number 12 to bring its total sales to 1,289, while the long-running Water for Your Soul by Joss Stone holds firm at number 14 with 48 copies sold over the past week. To date, Stone’s album has sold 36,445.
