Man arrested as police seize firearm in St Andrew

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Detectives assigned to the St Andrew North Division seized a homemade firearm and took a man into custody during an operation in Fern Hill, Lawrence Tavern yesterday.

Police say that about 8:00 am, a team of officers went to a premises where the man was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicions of him. He was accosted, searched and the firearm found.

The police are, however, are withholding the man’s identity pending further investigations.
