Island Routes plans ‘Mini’ Jamaica tour
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Tour company, Island Routes Caribbean Adventures will be launching a series on March 1 called ‘Mini-Routes’, offering tourists a new way to experience Jamaica.
Travel Weekly, in an article yesterday, outlined that guests will tour predefined routes in Mini Cooper vehicles, escorted by an island guide. The fleet of Minis features a range of models, such as convertibles, two-door models for couples and four-door vehicles for families, the article said.
Routes start in Montego Bay and go to Ocho Rios or Negril with stops at culinary, historical and adventure locations and landmarks.
“I’ve had the privilege of living the ‘island life’ and it’s something I truly value, so it’s very satisfying for my team and me to share our island and home region with the world,” Adam Stewart, CEO, Island Routes told Travel Weekly. “We’re constantly looking for ways to engage all ages and offer experiences that everyone will love.”
On the Ocho Rios route, guests will visit local food spots and hike to waterfalls. The Negril route passes through fishing villages, stops at a local coconut vendor, visits Seven Mile Beach and takes in a Jamaican jerk cooking demonstration.
Island Routes, which is a subsidiary of Sandals Resorts International, officially opened its Trelawny River Bumpkin Farm attraction in 2014, with the aim of fulfilling the needs of customers who continued to request different types of excursions.
The tour company currently offers more than 200 certified tour and destination experiences across the Caribbean, showcasing the culture, beauty and natural resources in each unique island destination.
