Red Rose For Gregory
The Gregory Isaacs Foundation hosts its inaugural Red Rose For Gregory show today at Constant Spring Golf Club in St Andrew.
A number of artistes will perform on the pre-Valentine’s Day event which aids the Patricia House Rehabilitation Centre, which has helped people affected by substance abuse for 15 years.
The Gregory Isaacs Foundation, headed by June Isaacs, widow of Gregory, adopted Patricia House and St Barnabas Preparatory School.
“We adopted Patricia House because we support rehabilitation; this is the only centre of its kind in the Corporate Area and it is extremely underfunded,” she said in a statement.
Gregory Isaacs, a giant of lovers’ rock, battled cocaine addiction for years. He died in October 2010 at age 60.
Red Rose For Gregory features American Rhythm and Blues group Atlantic Starr, PaKaGe (Gem Myers, Karen Smith, Patricia Edwards), Robert Minott, Yvad, Christopher Martin, Ikaya, D Major, Kaydeno, and Steven “Cat” Coore of Third World.
Backing band (except for Atlantic Starr and Christopher Martin) will be Lloyd Parks and We The People.
