Soul Of Eastern Kingston is the title of a new album from veteran singer, Carlton Livingston. It is his first collection of new music since 2010’s Bridge Of Life.

“We decided to call the album Most of Livingston’s current songs, such as Now 62, Livingston resides in Brooklyn, New York. He was born in Gayle, St Mary, but grew up in Kingston where he cut his teeth on sound systems like Fantastic 3 and Virgo.His recording debut was His first hit song, In 1982 Livingston moved to New York City and scored a major hit with Jarrett produced his biggest hit, Since that success, Livingston toured Europe for 12 years with the Soul Stereo sound system.

“We decided to call the album Soul of Eastern Kingston because I grew up in East Kingston before I moved to the United States. I lived in Franklyn Town and out east for a while,” said Livingston in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.

Soul Of Eastern Kingston will be released by French label, Uni-Team Records and contains 12 songs.

Most of Livingston’s current songs, such as Still Single and Backstabbers, have been released in Europe, where he performs regularly.

Now 62, Livingston resides in Brooklyn, New York. He was born in Gayle, St Mary, but grew up in Kingston where he cut his teeth on sound systems like Fantastic 3 and Virgo.

His recording debut was Tale Of Two Cities for Studio One in the mid-1970s.

His first hit song, Please Mr DJ, was produced by deejay Hugh Brown.

In 1982 Livingston moved to New York City and scored a major hit with 100 Weight Of Collie Weed for Jah Life Records. During that period, he also worked with Leon Simoy’s Trail Seeker label and Clive Jarrett’s Dandymite Records.

Jarrett produced his biggest hit, Don’t Follow Rumours, in 1982. The song was originally recorded at Channel One and gained new life in 1997 through a remix featuring Shabba Ranks.

Since that success, Livingston toured Europe for 12 years with the Soul Stereo sound system.
