The JAMROCK Remote Control Car Club (JRRCCC) penultimate round of the Island Electric Series (IES) at Sovereign Centre on the Boulevard, Washington Boulevard in St Andrew, on Sunday, February 19, came to an abrupt halt due to rain.

The original event was scheduled for Sunday, February 12.

“We got rained out again and were not able to do the main finals,” Denise Burton-Clarke, JRRCCC president, told the Jamaica Observer’s Auto magazine.

With that, the event results were determined by how the racers finished during qualifying. This led to Andre Blaine taking the 1:10 scale Electric GT class; the 1:10 scale Mini FWD being won by Gary Sailsman; and Chad Chang winning in 1:10 scale Electric Touring.

Up until Sunday’s meet, which was the fourth of the five-race series, it was Howard Maitland who held a slight margin in the series leading two of the three categories. In 1:10 scale Mini FWD, he led Clarke, by a mere two points, 301 to her 299. For the 1:10 scale Electric GT, Maitland sits tied with Gary Sailsman as both share a points count of 297. In 1:10 scale Electric Touring, Maitland sits four places behind leader Mike Clarke in fifth. This means an exciting battle, at least across the two classes, for Maitland at the next upcoming round.
