JDF recruitment drive starts today
The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) says it will open a recruitment drive today in an effort to increase its numbers.
The recruitment effort will be held in 10 parishes, over six days, at the following locations:
• Monday, March 6 – Tuesday, March 7: Whitehorne Barracks, Port Maria
(for residents of the parishes of St Ann, St Mary and Portland only)
• Thursday, March 9 – Friday March 10: Burke Barracks, Montego Bay
(for residents of the parishes of Trelawny, St James and Hanover)
• Monday, March 13 – Tuesday, March 14: Forster Barracks, Mandeville
(for residents of the parishes of Clarendon, Manchester, St Elizabeth and Westmoreland:
“Residents of the parishes of Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine and St Thomas will be accommodated at a date to be announced,” the JDF said in a news release issued yesterday.
The JDF also urged interested individuals not to go to recruiting locations that are outside of their parishes, as they will not be processed.
“The recruiting drive will cover all parishes in a systematic manner, and it is therefore not necessary for applicants to journey outside of the stipulated recruiting zone,” the JDF added.
