Court refuses recording in ‘police death squad’ trial
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The prosecution in the so-called police death squad trial suffered a blow today after Justice Jennifer Straw refused a submission to admit a recording of one of the accused officers allegedly giving details about the squad.
Corporal Roan Morrison and Constable Collis Brown are being tried on murder and wounding with intent charges following an incident in which Phaebian Dinal was shot dead and another man injured on Windsor Avenue in May Pen, Clarendon in February 2010.
Corporal Morrison is accused of killing Dinal while Constable Brown is accused of injuring another man.
The recording rejected by the court was allegedly made by Constable Brown.
