Simpson Miller tells followers to support Phillips
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Outgoing People’s National Party leader Portia Simpson Miller called on her followers to throw their support behind incoming party president Peter Phillips.
Simpson Miller in her final address as party leader urged “Portialytes and Portia battalion” to “…become the Peter Brigades, as he is your new leader and he will need you as much as I needed you.”
“He is now your leader and he will need your support as much as I did,” she said.
Simpson Miller also told the chanting crowd that she is convinced that the party is being placed in good hands.
