‘Unity’ Blessings to flow from
AN all-male line-up is expected to offer praise in music and laughter at Unity in the City: The Ultimate Experience scheduled for the National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew on Easter Monday, April 17.
Performers for Unity in the City are American gospel singer Travis Greene, Papa San, Kevin Downswell, Jermaine Edwards, Rondell Positive, Praise Academy of Dance, and Kevin Heath.
Comedians Bello & Blakka, Ity, and Minister Leighton Smith are also billed.
Antoinette Ellis, committee member of Unity For Peace, explained the objective behind the event’s staging.
“This event is strategically positioned to inspire immense optimism and unyielding hope during these troubled times. It was conceived as a national initiative to promote love and unity among citizens of Jamaica. It will create an atmosphere for change as we unite against crime and violence. Unity in the City will stimulate the transformation of Jamaica and call the nation to repentance,” Ellis told the
Jamaica Observer.
“Unity in the City will revolutionise gospel events in Jamaica and persons can come expecting an event of international standard with diversity in talent; an eclectic combination of uplifting and inspirational music, dance and comedy.”
Ellis said she has expectations that the event will be held annually.
“We plan to have this event yearly as we continue to unite for peace in Jamaica,” she said.
