Jabez doing it for moms
GOSPEL singer Jabez is promising something special at his annual Mother’s Day show, Thank You Mama, scheduled for Dinthill Technical High School in Linstead, St Catherine, on Sunday, May 14.
The event is in its eighth year.“We want patrons from Linstead and surrounding communities to attend as it’s an occasion for the whole family. We’ll have a wonderful time. There are some great acts lined up for the show. People will feel inspired and blessed for attending,” Jabez told the
Jamaica Observer.According to the singer-cum-gospel show promoter, it is challenging to put on an annual show of this nature but he’s determined to do it for the mothers.“When you see the smiles on the mothers’s faces, you feel a joy to know that you’ve helped to make someone’s life a little better,” he said.Gates are slated to open at 4:00 pm while the concert is earmarked for a 6:00 pm start.“We’ll be offering eye tests, blood sugar tests, and eyeglasses for some moms in attendance. We’ll have some other gifts for them as well,” said Jabez. In addition to the promoter, Sandra Brooks, Jermaine Gordon, and Keesha Peart are scheduled to perform.Thank You Mama is sponsored by Island Dairies, Robert’s Funeral Home, and Core Communications – FLOW.Hailing from the Linstead community, Jabez (given name Clive Provost) has made a name for himself in gospel circles. His sophomore set, Reconnect, which was released in December, debuted at number 33 on the Billboard Reggae album chart at the end of January 2017.He is known for songs including
